HOTEL POLICY


Thank you in advance for understanding our Nauvoo hotel policies. We strive to provide friendly service, clean fresh rooms, and a hotel experience that encourages our guests to come back. These policies are designed to foster those ideals and have become necessary in order to provide our unique level of accommodations. We look forward to serving you.

CHECKING IN & OUT - 24 HR FRONT DESK

Checking-in to Nauvoo Temple House - formerly the Woodruff Hotel - can be done after 4PM at the Hotel Front Desk. Our Front Desk is open 24 hrs. Your suite will be available for check in at 4:00pm on the date of your arrival and we kindly request that you check out at 10:00am on the day you depart. Checking out later than 10AM could result in a late check fee. You may contact the front desk directly at 217-453-2182.


RESERVATION POLICY:

We hope to make it as easy and helpful in securing your reservation. All Nauvoo Temple House reservations or requests for reservations shall only be considered a valid confirmed reservation once you have received a confirmation number and email from Nauvoo Temple House. If for any reason you feel that you have a confirmed reservation and yet you do not have or can not find a confirmation number please contact the hotel immediately. We may not be able to assist guests who do not have a confirmation number and we can not guarantee availability of any room without a confirmed reservation with a reservation number. Any correspondence, notes, emails, or phone calls between you and the hotel is not a confirmed reservation unless it clearly states a reservation confirmation number and an advanced payment has been received by the hotel for the reservation.



REFUND POLICY:

Due to the high demand in certain seasons and the early demand for prior reservations Nauvoo Temple House requires an advanced deposit of 50% of your total reservation amount. Please see the terms below:


RESERVATIONS EASY REFUND:

Other than the month of July - You may cancel your reservation at anytime upto 24 hours prior to your stay and receive a FULL REFUND. Once you are within 24 hours of your reserved check-in date, the second 50% of your total reservation amount will be charged to your credit card on file and your reservation has become confirmed and your full payment is no longer refundable. If you must cancel then we would be happy to apply your deposit to another reservation date, transfer it to another person's reservation at your request, or place it on hold for up to two years until you find another time to visit. We would like to be of service to anyone needing to make changes to their reservation. Please give us as much notice as possible so that we may assist you in changing your plans or re-booking your reservation to avoid any problems. We ask for your understanding as our seasonal business requires such strict rules.


JULY RESERVATIONS ONLY:

A deposit will be charged to your credit card when you book a reservation and your reservation has been confirmed in our system. This payment IS REFUNDABLE so long as you're not within 30 days of your arrival date. Once you are within 30 days of your reserved check-in date, the second 50% of your total reservation amount will be charged to your credit card on file and your reservation has become confirmed and your full payment is no longer refundable. If you must cancel then we would be happy to apply your deposit to another reservation date, transfer it to another person's reservation, or place it on hold for up to one year until you find another time to visit. We would like to be of service to anyone needing to make changes to their reservation. Please give us as much notice as possible so that we may assist you in changing your plans or re-booking your reservation to avoid any problems. We ask for your understanding as our seasonal business requires such strict rules.


SPECIAL REQUESTS & NEEDS:

Special requests can be made when making your hotel booking online. Requests for certain room views, rollaway beds, cribs, or any special needs requests for disabled considerations, as well as any other requests noted in comments section during the reservation process online can be made. Special requests are not guaranteed and will be honored depending on availability at check-in, but we will do our best to accommodate the request. If you have specific needs or questions regarding your request, please call the hotel directly.



OTHER POLICIES:

Guests traveling with children are responsible for their care. Nauvoo Temple House does not offer daycare, and children are not allowed to be left alone in hotel rooms by law. If it is discovered that children are being left unattended in a hotel room or within any of our facilities we will be forced to report such to local authorities.

In the event that a roll-a-way bed may be needed and it is not included in the price of your room as confirmed in your reservation confirmation, there will be an additional charge of $15 per day. Roll -a-way beds are available on a first come first serve basis and must be scheduled through our reservations. Cribs are available for $10 per day and are limited to availability.


No Smoking Policy

The Smoke Free Illinois Act (410 ILC; Public Act 095-0017) is a comprehensive anti-smoking law that took effect in Illinois on January 1, 2008, and bans smoking in most buildings and within 15 feet of openings in public buildings.

As such, to protect and enhance our indoor air quality and to contribute to the health and well-being of our guests and employees, Nauvoo Temple House is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited in all the enclosed areas within the facility without exception. This includes guest rooms, common areas, conference and meeting rooms, private offices, hallways, elevators, stairs, restrooms, outside entrance and lobby areas and all other enclosed facilities.

If a smoking violation occurs in a room, the client will be charged a $250 non-refundable cleaning fee. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that our guests and employees are not subject to second hand smoke.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:

Nauvoo Temple House at Zions Mercantile is located across the street from the Nauvoo Temple and right in historic downtown Nauvoo. Zions Mercantile has a general store with many historic replicas, souvenirs and gifts. The beautiful Temple House Gallery is also located on Mercantile Square. Visit the gallery to view art pieces from the masters as well as local artists. There are many pieces available for purchase as well. You will be within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the Nauvoo Pageant. Nauvoo is a small town with a population of only 1,100 people. Each night at the Pageant and on many printed materials, the LDS Church and its missionaries encourage people to patronize the local business and Nauvoo hotels and motels. Your contribution to the small economy of Nauvoo helps more than you know. We too invite you to experience Nauvoo by enjoying the shops restaurants and Nauvoo hotels motels of historic downtown.
